We had decided that we were looking for a girl. When the time came for us to accept a referral, we kept looking at the pictures of baby girls, doting on their adorable faces, wondering if one of those would be our daughter. We looked. Then looked again. And again. We simply could not decide.
I knew God would not send down thunderbolts or an angelic host when we found our child, but I had prayed for "a knowing."
Then, we saw him. Yes, a boy. Out of nowhere, we both declared that he was the one.
Four days later, the director of our agency visited GT again and took more pictures and a video of him. We knew it was coming, so I checked the mail as soon as I got home every day...finally, our DVD was in the mailbox! I actually broke the plastic case opening it, literally crammed the disc into the player, and a picture of a little girl came up.
How disappointing! Our label had become mixed up with another family's DVD...
Nevertheless, within days, we had it in our hands, and we watched it again and again.
Here's our darling boy, January 20, 2007. What a difference a year makes!

Our foster family was so wonderful! I have this sweater--they gave me an entire newborn outfit he had worn, hand mittens and all.
