A fellow blogger's latest entry reminded me that this blog is a record of our lives, not just a photo album!
It is easy to upload a few cute pictures, but it takes time to reflect on what is happening; however, that is exactly what I will want to remember in the coming years.
I normally document positive memories, but this is the most pressing issue in our lives right now:
My formerly compliant baby has morphed into a defiant toddler. I know, I know. This is a healthy, normal part of human growth, but I don't like it! Despite the routine we seek to maintain in his life, tasks that took little time before now stretch out into battles.
Like tonight.
After his bath, we always bring him back in the living room for lotion and pajamas. He helps by putting his arms through the holes and holding up his legs for the pants. Now, he has decided that it is more fun to try to stick his arm through the neck hole instead...
only he is grunting (and furrowing his brow...and puckering his lips), not laughing.
I began by trying to lighten the mood and saying, "Oh my! That's the neck hole, isn't it?" But he wasn't buying it.
It is a phase, right? One that will last a short while and be over, right?
