Our Second "Gotcha Day"

We had a fun day planned for October 19th, 2009, the second anniversary of Brayden's homecoming, but since the swine flu hit and no one really felt like partying, we spent a quiet day here. I had bought Brayden some Thomas gifts--a new book, a match game, Hiro--and he liked getting presents and having his own special day. I don't think I even took a picture that day. I'll blame it on delirium!

Nevertheless, I am still overwhelmed by the miracle of family. He was ours, in our hearts, from the moment we said yes to adoption, but there is nothing like having him here with us to make it perfect. Even when Brayden made a total mess in his car seat from a small ice cream cone, I reminded myself how fortunate we are to have a messy face and fingers to clean up...
