1. Brayden declares, "It's just me and us" when he sees that he and I are alone somewhere. I always reply, "Yep, just you and me, babe." He thinks that's the funniest thing!
2. In his Sunday School class, they were discussing fears--and how we can place our fears in God's hands. The teacher asked what each student feared (one little girl said pumas!), and when it was Brayden's turn, he said, "I'm afraid of Daddy. He's Diesel 10!"
3. Brayden has, unfortunately, taken to the role of bully. He has learned the chain already--his older cousin Isaac likes to overpower him, and during the visit with Davey this past week, Brayden assumed the role of bully. Brayden wanted to poke him, smoosh his cheeks together, bump into him, etc. I don't want to overreact to that behavior, but I certainly want him to be good to others, especially the smaller ones!
4. There is a new lady in our church, and Brayden is totally smitten with her. He is googly-eyed and makes all sorts of silly faces when he sees her (A glimpse of things to come?). Before church today, he found me and said, "Mommy! Come here! And he grabbed my hand. He brought me to within three feet of her and then pointed. She was at our house Friday, and when she came in, he grabbed his binoculars and watched her most of the evening. Once, he even ran into her because he couldn't judge depth very well...
5. Halloween was so much fun this year. He knew exactly what was going on and what to do. I had taked to him about his character for several days before trick-or-treat, encouraging him to play the part of Elvis. My most convincing point was that women loved Elvis, so they would give Brayden lots of candy for singing "All Shook Up" or for saying, "Thank you, Thank you very much." So when I had pictures at church of him in his Elvis costume, he grabbed them and said, "I'll be back. I'm going to show the WOMENS!
