Updates

So Brayden turned one month old February 1st, the same day he and his birth mother were DNA tested and matched 99.94%. This means that our lawyer can now apply for pre-approval for his VISA, and after dossier translation, send us into Family Court. I'm so excited, but I know to pace myself because there's a lot left to do.

We received a DVD February 3rd, and I was so nervous/anxious/elated that I broke the case getting it out! Alas, while the cover had his picture, name and our name, the contents were of one Maria Jose, a darling girl, but not our child. Cruel mix up!

On a lighter note, Brayden's crib arrived Saturday, and I am really pleased with it. It is solid and classic. The only negative is that the screws show--I'm working on hiding them. We were so pleased with how the crib looked in the room that we went to Oak Express that same day and purchased his dresser and nightstand. The room is full and just waiting for a little one to fill it up.

I sent his first care package out today--several sleepers/socks/two outfits/a photo book/a teether/a bib and two cameras. I hope the foster mom can use these.

So now we wait, enjoying the mini milestones as they come. I search the mailbox every day for those DNA results (they'll have a pic of Brayden with his birth mom, maybe the only one we'll get of her) and the RIGHT DVD!
