Well, excited and shocked are probably the best adjectives to describe our families' reactions to the news. I think they doubted our ability to keep a secret so long! It was a hard 2 1/2 months hiding the mounds of paperwork, but my goal was to wait until we had a referral picture so that everyone could understand the reality of a baby, but my husband just couldn't wait! I think he felt guilty keeping it from them, almost like he was lying!
We did the first of many projects in the baby's room. I had asked my parents to buy me a closet organizer for Christmas. After we revealed the big news Christmas Eve, my dad said if he had only known, he would have bought the baby a gift. Unknowingly, he did because the organizer was for the baby's closet!
